ScriptFunnel was created by a small group of Industry Professionals who are convinced that there exists an entire wave of talented writers and amazing material just waiting to be discovered. The problem is actually finding those writers and scripts. Since it would be nearly impossible to read every unsolicited script out there (yet necessary in order to find those rare gems) we've put together a team of professional and experienced Analysts and Readers to funnel the town, leaving only those deserving scripts and exceptional writers.
Our goal is two fold
1. To help talented and undiscovered writers with their dream of breaking in to film and television and help prepare their material for submission across town.2. To be the number one recourse for creative executives, agents, producers, and managers seeking hot & available material and undiscovered talent.
How we do it
ScriptFunnel is a Film & Television Coverage Service. Writers submit their completed script to ScriptFunnel where it is assigned two independent Analysts to read and prepare Coverage Reports. If your script receives positive coverage, not only do we send you a copy of both Coverages but we also forward it to the ScriptFunnel Executives whom will contact you and offer you the opportnity to have your script and coverage posted on our site. It's 100% your choice. But if you decide you want our help we will then alert industry professionals who are seeking new material and are interested in meeting with undiscovered writers.If your script receives unfavorable coverage, the reports are returned to you allowing you the rare opportunity to find out exactly what Professional Industry Analysts think about your script. (Tip: Coverage reports are excellent tools in the rewriting process.) Under normal circumstances you are never allowed to see the coverage, but they're the exact same reports that Agencies, Production Companies, and Studios use to determine if your script will ever be read by anyone of importance.
By submitting your material to ScriptFunnel first, you get the benefits of submitting your script across town, but with none of the drawbacks. This is because all material that is "Passed" on stays between you and ScriptFunnel. No one else will ever see it unless you want them to. In addition, you can use your coverage reports to fix those things that our experienced Readers deemed problem areas. They'll even provide you with suggestions for making your script better.
